Sketches

All of my sketches are done at the location of the subject using a Pentel Fineliner and sketchbook.They typically take an hour to an hour-and-a-half. I find I prefer to capture the texture and drama of historic and older elements in the urban environment even though my predilection is for contemporary design in newer buildings. Often, parts of my sketches may find their way into my etchings.

Photographs

I shoot in both black and white and color but I feel the black and white images tend to bring out more drama and have a simplicity in their clarity, texture, and tonal contrasts.
